Installing ESXi 5.0 HP Offline Bundle

Download and install ‘vSphere CLI 5.0′ from here –  Automation Tools

Download and install ‘HP ESXi Offline Bundle for VMware ESXi 5.0′ from here – link

Latest at time of creating this post is

Using vSphere Client upload the Offline Bundle to a datastore on the ESXi host.

C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware vSphere CLI\bin>

# Place host into Maintenance mode.
“ –server -operation enter”

# Confirm host is in Maintence mode. –server -operation info

#Install HP ESXi Offline Bundle, in this example versiopn 1.1-37
esxcli –server software vib install -d [datastore1]
Enter username: root
Enter password:
Installation Result
Message: The update completed successfully, but the system needs to be rebooted for the changes to be effective.

#Reboot the host -–server –operation reboot
Enter username: root
Enter password:
Host rebooted successfully.

#When the host comes back up after reboot check modules installed
esxcli –server software vib list

#Exit maintenance mode to complete the procedure –-server –operation exit

Notes : copy/paste into the cli sometimes has problems.

*** double hyphen in wordpress converts to single hyphen.

Your host should now have the HP CIM Providers installed and useable.
